A recording artist himself for over twenty-five years, Matt has developed a progressive philosophy on recording, and a deep love for high quality independent music. In recent years, Matt especially loves to record and produce artists who are “outside the Nashville box” and prides himself on helping them attain a major label sound on a reasonable budget. Matt is able to achieve this by incorporating carefully selected pieces of high-end audio gear that are second-to-none, and by keeping his overhead low by working out of his home-based studio (see Matt's full GEAR LIST below).
|
Matt records on a Digidesign ProTools HD2 Accel System with the latest version of ProTools software HD 8 (see Matt's full GEAR LIST below). If you are in need of musicians to play on your record, or If you are coming into Nashville from out of town, Matt has an extensive pool of A-List session players to choose from to fill out your sound.

Matt Wilder
Engineer, Producer, Mixer, Mastering
Matt Wilder has been a recording artist, engineer, and producer for over twenty-five years. He has worked with legendary producer Dan Hartman (Tina Turner, Joe Cocker, Steve Winwood, James Brown, etc), has written soundtracks for Sesame Street, and even founded the very first "school of rock" in 1992 called Group-Music.
After moving to Nashville in 2000, Matt built his own recording studio, and began producing demos for major labels & publishing companies such as Sony, Dreamworks, BMG, Atlantic, Word, Warner Brothers Records, Ten Ten Music Group, etc. By 2002, Matt had become increasingly focused on recording independent artists, and in 2005, Wilderside Productions was born. Matt also created his own artist showcase The Wilderside of Nashville, which featured artists "outside the Nashville box".
Since then, Matt has produced countless indie artists and is more excited than ever about nurturing and exposing great music in Nashville. He is currently expanding the Wilderside production studio by bringing in other talented engineers and producers. In 2009, Matt plans to expand his artist showcase, as well as create a TV & film licensing division to help the many artists he has worked with gain exposure. Matt also teaches a very popular class in audio technology at Vanderbuilt University, and has a song coming out in the upcoming Pixar film Dwegon.

Geoff Koval
Engineer, Producer, Mixer
Geoff Koval got his start as the guitar player for the 90's indie band The Fifth Wheel, warming up for such notable artists as The Cranberries, The Sundays, Alanis Morrissette, and Toad The Wet Sprocket. It was also during this time that Geoff realized his true love was behind the mixing board, and in 1993, landed his first engineering gig at Trent Reznor's studio Midtown Recording in Cleveland, Ohio. Geoff spent seven years at Midtown, learning the ropes as he worked with the band Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. In 1998, Geoff started working in Nashville for producer David Z., and in 2000 became Chief Engineer at Island Bound Publishing. At Island, Geoff got to work with practically every big songwriter in town, and in 2004, he built his own studio, Cylo Recording, where he produced indie rock projects for two years. Geoff then moved on to work at The Chateau in Franklin, before landing at Wilderside Productions in 2007. Geoff plays an integral role at Wilderside, working closely with Matt Wilder on all projects. Geoff also works occasionally at The Sound Kitchen in Franklin.
